The autobiography of a woman; by Waldorfia
Jason laughed. It wasn’t a belly laugh or a guffaw. It was the type of laugh you would expect from a well-bred gentleman. He offered “No. No wives hidden in the background. But glad you checked me out on that score.”
“You seem to be a gentleman” I said.
“You are very observant” Jason replied with a smile that was neither condescending nor over confident. He waited for me to continue; knowing that I was leading up to something.
I fished for a complement. “Why would a gentleman keep staring at a woman he had not been introduced to?”
“How could I not stare at the most beautiful woman I have ever seen?” he replied. His facial expressions yielded sincerity.
I was hooked. He had noticed me without my playing any active part in it. The dance of life was on and the first steps had been completed.
